The Victory River Quartet is made up of 4 very good friends who attend Addison Freewill Baptist Church who have come together to form an old fashioned men's quartet.  Although they have been together a short time these 4 guys have a long history of performing Gospel Music in Gallia County and the surrounding area.  They are made up of Randy Shafer on baritone, Mark Coleman on tenor, Jamie Fortner on bass, and Rick Barcus on the lead part.  Victory River's goal is to lead someone to Christ and enjoy the journey along the way.

Singing Shafers- 3:00 p.m.
Picture
The Singing Shafers from Crown City, Ohio, have been sharing their style of Southern Gospel Music for close to 50 years and are still going strong. This family ministry began at an early age with Randy, Sue Anne, and "Mom" Gail Shafer, a talented pianist who played for area churches and special occasions. Their Dad, "Farrell Shafer" held the position of Transportation and Equipment Director. A few years later the family mastered various instruments such as: piano, guitars, mandolin, banjo, autoharp, fiddle, and harmonica. During a performance you never know which instrument will appear.

Later, the group went through phases of having additional members and musicians, having their own families and careers in Education, and traveling with other groups. In 2005, the family was devastated with the diagnosis of brain cancer and then the passing in 2006 of Sue Anne's husband, Ted C. Collins, also an accomplished Gospel singer and songwriter. Randy and Sue Anne did not perform during this time.

In 2007, The Singing Shafers were back on the road ready to share the Gospel, their personal testimony, and years of experience. Randy has become an accomplished vocalist, songwriter, producer, musician, and is still enjoying his teaching career. He is owner and engineer of Swan Creek Valley Recording Studio at Crown City, Ohio, where he makes his home. Sue Anne retired in 2010 after 31 years of high school teaching and is dedicated to singing and working with the family ministry. She presently lives at Fort Gay, WV. Their Mom surprises everyone at times by making a guest appearance and, at the age of 81, can still "tickle the ivory". Their Dad is 86 years old and still is their biggest fan.

Randy and Sue Anne possess a unique family blend of vocal harmony. They are truly dedicated to this calling that God has placed in their lives. If you like good country folks that love God and Gospel Music, then you'll love "The Singing Shafers".

The Raineys - 3:45 p.m.
Picture
The Raineys began singing as a husband and wife duo in 2010. Laura and James traveled all across the country spreading the good news in song and testimony. In 2011, the Lord brought a man by the name of Randy Shafer to the group to join them. Randy was Ohio’s harmonica champion several years running, as well as an accomplished singer, songwriter, and studio owner. This trio would travel all across the country, seeing revivals break out, people saved, and lives changed. The key to this success was simple: just share the gospel, be genuine, and let the Holy Spirit ALWAYS have His way. But in 2012, the Lord moved James and Laura to Southern Illinois. This would bring challenges to this ministry couple due to the distance between them and Mr. Randy Shafer.

It wasn’t long until Deb Gates Griffin showed up, directed by the Lord, to join the Raineys in this music ministry. Deb is an accomplished piano player and teacher, singer, songwriter, violinist, bassist, and all around great Christian person. She was the missing key to keeping this ministry alive. Deb is from Bloomington, Illinois where she sang with her family, The Gates Family.

Then to round out things, Mr. Gary Voekler joined the group in December of 2015. He is without a doubt, one of the greatest up and coming bass singers in our industry today. Gary has sung with the John Roberts Gospel Homecoming Choir and with the very popular group, Instruments of Faith. He is a great addition to this group, now making them a mixed quartet.

The Raineys have had many songs played on the radio stations all across the country. Songs like, “Getting Ready Today”, “If You Want Joy”, and the new current release, written by Jeff Steele, “The Lord Is Good”.

With over 5 recordings now, The Raineys are back in the studios in January working on their brand new project featuring the above lineup.

James is no stranger to the music industry. He started playing the piano at the age of 5. James went on the road full time at the age of 14 with The Gospel Harmony Boys from Huntington, WV. He then went on a 21 year run, playing for groups like: The Hoppers, Rusty Goodman, The Dalton Gang, The Greenes, The Singing Americans, Wendy Bagwell and The Sunlighters, The Trailblazers, Crimson River, The Blackwood Quartet and The Legendary Stamps Quartet with Ed Enoch.

James also is the owner of Declaration 212 Productions, which is a state of the art recording studio, using Pro Tools software, top of the line vocal mics and processors, tuning and aligning gear, mastering software, and much more.

Laura, James’ wife, comes from the town of Ft. Branch, Indiana, where she learned to sing in choirs, and at her local church. She also learned to play the piano at a young age, and has a God given talent to communicate a song to people.

Everywhere this group goes, they allow the Lord to have His way in their services. You will be blessed by their ability to communicate the message thru song, touch hearts, and lead people to the Lord.

Don’t be fooled by all of the above accomplishments, awards, etc. This group will be the first to tell you that if The Lord is not the center of everything that they do, and if He does not get all of the Glory and Honor from everything done, they will shut the ministry down in a heartbeat.

“It isn’t about us, but rather about HIM, the one we sing about”. Our gifts and talents were not given to us for ourselves, but rather to bless and encourage others."
